Rocio Montes

Rocio has been involved with House of Peru since 2017, and joined its Board in 2019 as Director of Events. She was born in Lima-Peru and moved to the US to pursue a degree in Software Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology. She moved to San Diego shortly after graduation to be near the ocean.
 She is currently a Senior Engineering Manager at GitHub.  Rocio started a new role as the director of Cultural Relations of the House of Peru in 2022,  she brings her professionalism and expertise in connecting and collaborating with people around the world.  She is a true community builder.  Outside of GitHub, she is on the leadership team of San Diego “Girl Develop it”.  She is also the Co-founder of “Emar”, a small business with a mission to connect US small businesses with technology needs to software engineering interns in Peru.
