House of Peru Queen | 2022 - 2023
​Lorena Johnson, a recent graduate of West Hills High School, finished as a Salutatorian, ranking number 2 out of 380 seniors. She will be moving on to UCLA in the fall majoring in Marine Biology. Growing up Lorena has always shown love and pride for her Peruvian heritage through her participation in countless performances supporting House of Peru, where she started as a Pee Wee Princess at the age of 7.

As an elected Queen for the House of Peru of 2023, she's displayed an excellent performance of her duties and leadership to the young  Princesses. In addition to those duties, Lorena was elected Sergeant of Arms for the House of Pacific Relations, displaying her great commitment to the organization. Lorena shows perseverance and determination while completing her task and solving situations. We are proud of Lorena’s accomplishments and know that she will succeed in her future endeavors as she has the determination to achieve everything she puts her mind to.​

​About The Queens Organization

The HPR Queens Organization is an educational, cultural service, non-political, non-sectarian organization for female youth members elected by the various Houses of different nations that make up the House of Pacific Relations (HPR). 

​

Purpose and Objectives:

• To promote a close association with members of all the ethnic groups represented in the HPR.
• To foster a spirit of understanding, tolerance and good will between all race and nationalities, trying to understand each one's culture, customs, background tradition and history.
• To serve the San Diego community via outreach events (fundraisers, social service, etc.)
• To present to the public the music and dances of the various ethnic groups represented in the HPR.
• To be "Goodwill ambassadors" of the HPR.

Each year, member Houses of HPR elect Queens and Princesses to reign from October 1-September 30 (following year).
Members must be between the ages of 8 and 19 (on October 1st of each year) and active members in good-standing of their Houses either as individuals or through family membership.  Pee-wee Princess (8-9 years old), Junior Princess (10-13 years old), Princess and Queen (14-19 years old).
