Luis AgurtoLuis was born in Lima-Peru. He attended Ricardo Palma University in Lima majoring in RRPP. In 1992 he and his family and I migrated to San Diego. Luis has two sons. Luis has worked at ELECTROLIMA in Lima Peru, after that he established his own business in clothing manufacturing while in Lima. Once Luis moved to San Diego, he started learning and taking english classes, his first job (in San Diego) was with a Japanese Corporation, ARRK making prototypes and developing new products for companies such as; Apple, Kyocera, Honda, Texas Instruments, Nissan, etc. Over the years he became a supervisor and then the General Manager of Molding, Casting and finishing departments of the plant, until the company made the decision to leave California and move the facilities to Mexico and other countries. In 2003, he began working for San Diego Gas & Electric in the Pipeline operations department which is responsible for the distribution and transmission of Natural Gas, he worked in this department for 7 years.

In 2010, Luis started working in an Electrician position for the department of Cathodic System Protection. In 2016 he graduated from NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineer) as a NACE Electrician. Luis and his wife Angie Caruso (Italian descendant) have been happily married for 11 years. Luis has gone back to Lima at least once a year since 2011 visiting family, friends and of course to enjoy our delicious and well known Peruvian dishes. In 2019, Luis and his wife took their first trip together to Peru. The place she liked the most and fell in love with was Arequipa. Luis enjoys travel, biking, paddle boarding, jet skiing, swimming. Luis and his wife love going out dancing and listening to 70’-80’ music, trying new restaurants, going to museums, admiring old architecture whenever we travel.
Luis joined the House of Peru back in 2016 and started becoming more active and participating in the activities since then and he is very excited to take the position as our Director of Membership.
