Dear Member:

In these troubled economic times the House of Peru knows that every penny counts. Your Board of Directors would also like you to know that your membership dues are spent wisely and for good cause.

• In 2008 we completed the disaster relief project and delivered  a full container of clothes, medicine, toys and food for the benefit of those Peruvians that lost everything in the earthquake of 2007. Also your donations were well spent providing shelter for 33 families whose homes were destroyed in the disaster.
• Our performing dance group received additional new costumes.
• Our Queens organization was sponsored at the Installation of Officers dinner.
• We provided the Ladies Auxiliary of HPR a beautiful lunch.
• The San Diego community was treated to an evening of Peruvian culture at the Tower After Dark event at the Museum of Man.
• We facilitated the delivery of 41 boxes of clothing for the “Abrigo Andino” orphanage in Arequipa-Peru.
• Served over 500 meals at the Ethnic Food Fair at Balboa Park.
• Celebrated our Peruvian Independence at the Lawn Program in Balboa Park.
• Renewed our 501-C (3) Charitable Organization Status with the Internal Revenue Service and the State of California.
• Sponsored the Queens organization at the Coronation dinner.
• Participated in December Nights function at Balboa Park with over 300,000 attendees

The list of accomplishments and  services that the House of Peru provides to our Members and the Community of San Diego is a long and happy one. We need your support to continue this valuable effort in sharing our Peruvian culture with the community at large.

Please join us for the following functions in 2009: May 24th Food Fair, August 9th Lawn Program, December 4th and 5th December Nights.
