Melissa CervantesMelissa was born and raised in Trujillo, Peru. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Languages from The National University of Trujillo and a Masters' degree in Higher Education from Antenor Orrego Private University.
Melissa has over 10 years of experience as an educator. Being a language teacher has given her the opportunity to meet people from different countries, learn from their cultures and impact many people’s lives. Her last job in Peru was working as a teacher in a bilingual school. |
Besides her job as a teacher, Melissa has always been involved in cultural and charitable events. She was a mentor in the “Access student program”. An educational program designed for students with scholarships, sponsored by the US Embassy with the participation of Peace Corps volunteers, and El Cultural, in Trujillo.
She moved to San Diego, 4 years ago, where she lives with her husband Jesse. She currently works in a private school where she does what she loves the most, teaching.
Melissa and her husband joined the House of Peru in 2021. She has been participating actively since then. She loves challenges, and she is happy to contribute with her skills to promote our culture, and help the Peruvian community in San Diego.
